The Technical Approval is the opinion issued by a group of experts, in this case the CSTB, on the conformity of an innovative construction process.
The term Technical Approval refers interchangeably to the Technical Approval or the Technical Application Document (DTA). Following a collective evaluation, the commission rules on the fitness for use of the products and issues the Technical Approval.

The Technical Approval (Atec) provides an assessment of products for a defined use.
The Technical Application Document (DTA) is comparable to the Technical Approval, but it only covers requests concerning a product that is subject to CE marking. The Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB) manages the issuance of Atec and DTA certifications.
